[High School - Love On] Miss Gong Ddeokbokki 미스공 떡볶이

So on Christmas Day...we decided to go to Miss Gong Ddeokbokki - yes, the shop where 'High School - Love On' was filmed at! In the drama, the shop is owned by Woo Hyun's grandmother. I was surprised when I found out that the shop really existed! :)

We ordered the 치즈&토치 구슬떡볶이 (Cheese & torch ddeokbokki). It costs 4,000 won. The plain ddeokbokki costs 3,000 won.

I forgot to mention - the restaurant is famous for its 구슬떡볶이 (bead rice cakes) which are shaped like small balls, unlike the typical rice cakes that are longer and bigger. This makes the rice cakes much easier to chew (which is why I loved it!). The sauce was also fantastic. It was savoury and not too spicy, perfect for people who cannot take food that are too spicy! :) The cheese completed the dish. It would otherwise have just been a plain dish of ddeokbokki. (I have no idea what the 'torch' is >_<.)

Like many other Korean restaurants, water (hot and cold) is free and self-service. 단무지, or pickled radish, are also provided. The order has to be made at the counter and you would be given a buzzer while your food is being prepared, like cafes.

The restaurant also sells other typical Korean snacks like 순대 (sundae or blood sausage), 마약김밥 (mayak kimbap) and 오뎅 (odeng or fishcakes). The prices are also really affordable! :) 

Directions

You can either walk from Apgujeong or Sinsa station. You will reach the same junction :)

We walked from Sinsa station, so here are the directions from Sinsa Station:

1. Exit by exit 1.

2. Walk straight, all the way until you reach a junction. You should see a 'Hi-Mart' across the street on your left. 

3. Cross the road in the direction you were walking.

4. Turn right and walk straight for a short distance.

5. Turn left into the first street (논현로150길 Nonhyeonro 150gil).

6. Walk straight and you should see the shop on your left! :)

For directions from Apgujeong station:

1. Exit by exit 3.

2. Walk straight until you reach a junction (the same one mentioned above). You should see 'Woori Bank' on your left and 'Hi-Mart' across the street on your right.

3. Cross the road and continue walking until you reach the first street (논현로150길 Nonhyeonro 150gil).

4. Turn left into the street and continue walking. You should see the shop on your left.
